“I’m looking forward to growing as a player”
A quiet social media post announced the news over the weekend – Briane Harris is playing mixed doubles next season with fellow Manitoban Kyle Doering.
“I’m really excited to play with Kyle,” Harris told The Curling News. “He’s smart, dedicated, talented and a great guy. He’s the perfect partner for me to take on this new challenge with.”
The initial news came in the form of a graphic which appeared on a new Instagram account, as well as an X/Twitter account formerly used by Doering’s former men’s team, dating to back to 2021.

Harris, 34, played third for Team Kate Cameron last season, her first new squad since her seven-year run with Kerri Einarson came to a formal end in 2025.
Cameron has since moved on to skip Laurie Ste-Georges’ Quebec-based team.
A world junior bronze medallist in 2016, the 30-year-old Doering was recently picked as team Brad Gushue’s alternate for the 2024 world championship in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.

Doering also served as alternate for Matt Dunstone’s Brier finalists in 2025.
This is one of the first new mixed doubles pairing announcements of the new quadrennial, as fours team lineup machinations roll on amid the 2025-26 season wind-down.
“Four-person curling is what I’m used to and what I love,” said Harris.
“But right now I’m looking forward to growing as a player by giving mixed doubles a try, and (we’ll) see what happens.”
